← Manna

Our mission

He humbled you, and in your hunger He gave you manna to eat, which neither you nor your fathers had known, so that you might understand that man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.
Deuteronomy 8:3

Manna is bite-size discipleship: a daily habit in the Word of God, built to be kept.

Discipleship is made of returning.

Jesus asked his followers to go and make disciples of all nations. That is a massive calling, but it is lived out the way most obedience is lived out: daily, in ordinary hours, by everyday people. Someone who spends ten minutes in Scripture today is more likely to spend ten minutes in it tomorrow, and a year of that is no small thing.

A habit sustained by delight.

Daily devotionals are abandoned all the time, and not because people stop caring. The truth is, duty is a poor engine for a habit. Delight is a much better one.

Manna is built to be a joyful space that connects you to Scripture. The goal is to create an experience that is engaging on its own terms: the difference between a checklist you merely get through and a quiet moment you actually want to return to. Like the original manna, it comes a day at a time and is meant to be gathered fresh each morning.

Peace and truth, a portion at a time.

The daily interaction is just the invitation. What follows is a short piece of writing exploring what those words mean, alongside the passages themselves in full, so you can read the Word directly rather than just being told about it. That reading is what takes the longest to craft, and it is the entire reason the rest of the app exists.

Our hope is simple: that a daily connection to the Word brings peace, offers truth, and draws you closer to God.

Why we use the Berean Standard Bible.

The BSB is a modern, carefully made translation that its publishers placed in the public domain in 2023. Because the text is fully open, we can embed the passages directly inside Manna in full without paying any licensing fees. It is also the exact wording the daily text is drawn from, ensuring a seamless experience.

That said, you are always warmly invited to read the verses in your own Bible, in whichever translation is your preference.

No ads, ever.

Manna is free, and there are no ads. We want your time here to remain entirely focused on God’s peace, joy, and wisdom, free from distraction or interruption.
